These Terms & Conditions govern registration for all Cork Tag Rugby events.. Participation in all such events is subject to acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. For team events, the person registering the team must accept these Terms & Conditions (hereafter “person who registered”) on behalf of:
- their team; and
- any other person who may participate on their team at any stage during the event.
1. KICK-OFF TIMES / TWO GAMES ON SAME NIGHT
Fixed kick-off times operate for all Corktagrugby.ie Leagues. These kick-off times will be posted on the Fixtures & Results page of the website at least 24 hours before the start of the event.
Corktagrugby.ie reserves the right to change the kick-off times of any event at any stage due to unforeseen circumstances, as a last resort to get matches played. This includes games that have been abandoned or need to be replayed or if there is a shortage of referees. Corktagrugby.ie will strive to give teams as much notice as possible if there is a requirement to reschedule matches but please note that, in exceptional circumstances, it is possible that changes may be made on match day. In certain circumstances, Corktagrugby.ie reserves the right to instruct teams to play two shortened matches on the same night, including during the grading phase of a league.
In all cases:
- the affected team captains, vice captains and registered players (if applicable) will be notified about any changes in advance via email and/or SMS. It is then the responsibility of the team captain to ensure that this information is communicated to their team members. It is therefore important that Corktagrugby.ie has valid email addresses and mobile numbers.
- Corktagrugby.ie’s decision is final
2. CHANGE OF TIME / VENUE / LEAGUE FORMAT
Corktagrugby.ie reserves the right to change the venue of any Corktagrugby.ie Event, due to unforeseen circumstances. This includes venues that are deemed unplayable due, for example, to poor weather conditions. All affected team captains, vice captains and registered players (if applicable) will be notified as soon as possible about any changes in advance via email and/or SMS. It is then the responsibility of the team captain to ensure that this information is communicated to their team members. It is therefore important that Corktagrugby.ie has valid email addresses and mobile numbers.
Corktagrugby.ie also reserves the right to alter the number of teams playing in a league, based on exceptional circumstances. These changes may be made at any stage before the start of the league to ensure all fixtures can be fulfilled.
If a kick off time changes within 24 hours of a match, the captain and vice captain of the teams involved will be emailed, texted and/or called by Corktagrugby with the revised KO time.
Corktagrugby.ie reserves the right to change the grading of a team in exceptional circumstances, such as walkovers, no shows and forfeits. These changes may be made at any stage during a League or Event and will be taken to preserve the integrity of the overall tournament.
3. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
In all cases, a player can only play for ONE team per NIGHT, per LEAGUE, per SEASON.
4. CANCELLATION OF EVENT
Corktagrugby.ie reserves the right to cancel any event due to unforeseen circumstances. If your team has already registered and paid for the cancelled event, you will be notified by email.
Upon registering for a Corktagrugby.ie event, a non refundable payment will be required per team / per individual. The full payment should be paid in advance of the commencement of the event or on the first night of the event commencing.
Corktagrugby.ie recommends that all players and referees who have health-related concerns about taking part in a Corktagrugby.ie Event visit their local GP for a health check-up before participating in the Event.
Personal Accident Cover
Tag Rugby is a team sport and as with all sport, there is a risk of injury. All players playing in Corktagrugby.ie Events take part at their own risk and it is entirely at the discretion of each team and player whether or not to take part in a Corktagrugby.ie Event as a whole or in any particular game.
It is the decision and responsibility of each individual player to ensure he/she is fully covered, in accordance with his/her specific needs when participating in tag rugby. Corktagrugby.ie strongly recommends that every player has their own Personal Accident Cover insurance while playing tag rugby or while present at any Corkagrugby.ie venue. Please speak with your financial adviser regarding Personal Accident Cover while playing tag rugby.
Corktagrugby.ie takes no responsibility for players who choose not to have insurance cover. Every player must sign a team registration form before each Corktagrugby.ie Event acknowledging this. The registration form is required to be signed by all players each night before their game commences. This is available at the venue from the Venue Manager.
- If the team is taking part in a league, every player must sign the registration form before each game. The completed team registration form, which should be printed and signed by each team member, should then be handed to the Referee before the team’s game.
- If the team is taking part in a One Day Event, every player must sign the registration form before the tournament starts. The completed team registration form, which should be printed and signed by each team member, should then be handed to the Venue Manager before the team’s first game.
Corktagrugby.ie takes no responsibility, and hereby, excludes liability to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any personal injury or loss or damage to any personal property sustained while playing tag rugby or while present at any Tagrugby.ie venue.
Third Party Organisations
All players use the services of third party organisations at Corktagrugby.ie Events at their own risk.
7. FORFEITING A MATCH
If you are unavailable to field a team for a match, for example due to a shortage of players, please let us know before 3pm on the day of your match by calling 087 622 3670 and emailing firstname.lastname@example.org – out of courtesy, we like to contact the opposition and inform them that you will not be there. After 3pm, most teams have made their plans for tag that evening so ringing us after that is often too late to cancel the team travelling.
If your team cannot play your match and fail to let us know in advance of the game, we may deduct up to four points from your team’s league score.
Corktagrugby.ie reserves the right to withdraw a team from a league without refund, if that team does not show up for two or more of their league matches, especially if they have not informed Cork Tag Rugby in advance.
8. SMS & EMAIL COMMUNICATION
When you sign up to become a team captain, your mobile and email contact details are automatically added to our database. This allows us to contact you with information relevant to your tag team, including match fixtures, registration launches, venue updates, social gatherings etc.
By signing up to play Tag, you are opting in to receive email communications from us. If you want to be removed from this database, email email@example.com with your contact details. (Please note though that next time you sign up to play Tag, your details will be automatically added to the database once again.)
9. PHOTO GALLERY & IMAGE RIGHTS
We regularly have official photographers at Corktagrugby.ie Leagues & Festival Events taking action photos of those playing tag, as well as group team shots, which we then post onto our Facebook page and website gallery. We may also use some of these images for promotional material (brochures, posters, web ads etc) in the future.
By playing in Corktagrugby.ie Leagues & Festivals, and by accepting these Terms & Conditions, you grant Corktagrugby.ie the absolute right and permission to copyright and use, re-use, and publish, photographic portraits or pictures of you or in which you may be included, in whole or in part, or composite or distorted in character or form, without restriction as to changes or alterations from time to time, in conjunction with your own or a fictitious name, or reproductions thereof in colour or otherwise, made through any medium, and in any and all media now or hereafter known, for art, advertising, trade or any other legal purpose. You also consent to the use of any printed matter in conjunction therewith.
10. COVID 19
Cork Tag Rugby is following public health guidelines in relation to Covid 19. Notwithstanding any other provision (including any communicable disease extension), no cover is provided by Cork Tag Rugby for any claim, loss, cost or expense of whatever nature directly or indirectly arising out of, contributed to by or resulting from coronavirus disease (COVID-19), severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), or any mutation or variation thereof.
Corktagrugby.ie reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at their discretion. The user is therefore responsible for regularly reviewing the Terms & Conditions, which are available to view on the Corktagrugby.ie website. This means that we will not notify you of any changes to the Terms & Conditions but will post them on the website.
Corktagrugby.ie reserves the right at any time to amend the laws or add new laws in the interest of promotion and fairness of the game of Tag Rugby.
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland, and the parties hereby submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts to settle any disputes in connection with, or arising out of, the use of this site or its affiliate sites.
If any of the provisions of these Terms & Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be void or unenforceable, such provision shall be deemed to be deleted from the Terms & Conditions and the remaining provisions of the Terms & Conditions shall continue in full force and effect.
