Cork Tag Rugby Finals Night

Posted on

What a night we had for Cork Tag Rugby Finals Night in Carrigaline on Wednesday 30th November 2016. We thought we had seen it all but hell no. The weather threatened with fog but held off all night to play out the final round of games. And what a night.

We started with Fancy A Tag versus Just Try It in the Superbowl Final. Just Try It are a really promising team and have come on leaps and bounds throughout our league but were undone by a resurgent Fancy A Tag who claimed the title. In the Bowl Final, we had Joey Blake making his voice heard and even had his cameo thirty seconds in roaring to victory against a highly fancied Try Hards. Taggled Up In Blue showed their class in dismantling a quality Tagtics team in the Plate Final in a game that ebbed and flowed and could have gone either way. Cork Tag Rugby’s most successful team were beaten by a young and exciting Al Try Eda in the Cup Final. The League Plate Final was another close affair with Tagging Fever edging past the formidable Sports Team 2000. The League Cup Final was played at a frantic pace between Surprise Surprise and Dirty Hookers. Dirty Hookers emerged from the game as the Cork Tag Rugby Carrigaline Autumn League winners for 2016.

Well done to all teams for making the league a joy to run. We really hope you enjoyed finals night and throughout the league. We take a break until the beginning of 2017 where we will be back in Carrigaline for our new league commencing Wednesday 11th January. This is a 10 week league and runs until mid March. We also have our 6 week league kicking off in Cork Harlequins on Monday the 23rd January 2017. If you want further information CLICK HERE.
